CPE was the first community I joined on campus as a first quarter freshman, and since then I have found a group of people that share the same motivation and passion for innovation and industry as I. Every week, I not only get to learn from the experience of CPE’s impactful guest speakers, but also from my peers that join the club from a diverse array of majors and backgrounds.
Anna Royal
My name is Mia, and I serve as the Director of Events for CPE. This role has given me the incredible opportunity to work alongside motivated and driven business students who are eager to learn and collaborate every day. I began my journey with CPE on the associate board under the Events team during my first year. This experience provided me with an introduction to the club and a chance to take on more responsibility while being mentored by someone with more experience in the organization. The following year, I was able to step into the role of Director of Events, where I now lead my own team of associates and have the chance to provide the same mentorship that shaped my experience. Both roles have given me the opportunity to organize engaging events for our club members while also strengthening key qualities such as communication, leadership, problem-solving, and creativity. I feel incredibly fortunate to have contributed to the club’s success and to have helped foster a sense of community among such innovative minds.

I joined Cal Poly Entrepreneurs in my first quarter. I remember looking for clubs to add to my resume and knew that I had to get involved as quickly as possible. The club’s speakers, events, and more pulled me in, but it was the like-minded people that kept me there! I initially started as the club’s video editor and slowly made my way up to the board. From here, I got involved through the parent organization, the Cal Poly Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) and developed my love for entrepreneurship further! Through the last five years, I’ve been involved in everything… literally: elevator pitch competition, Startup Launch Weekend, Innovation Quest, and the Accelerator, taking full advantage of all the programs. Now, I successfully run a post-revenue startup called Mr. Turtle and could not be happier. You should join Cal Poly Entrepreneurs, because just like me, it can truly change your life!

This past fall quarter, I had the amazing opportunity to take a headquarters tour in Las Vegas with CPE. From start to finish, the experience was seamless and well-organized, offering a behind the scenes look into how Vegas operates. From sports betting insight at DraftKings to hospitality and entertainment at Wynn, we really saw everything! Overall, it was an incredible experience, and I’m grateful to have been part of this tour.
